Public March Permits

Processing Time: 14-21 business days

Requirements

For Timely Processing Please Submit Applications fourteen (14) days before event.

Safety and security plan

Process

Submit complete application online
Police division conducts route assessment
Commissioner reviews and approves
Permit issued if approved
Important: Applications must be submitted at least 21 days before the proposed march date.

Public Meeting Applications

Processing Time: 7-14 business days

Requirements

Valid identification of organizer
Completed notification form
Venue details and capacity
Purpose of Meeting
Route and Water Stops
Date, time, and duration
Meeting agenda and speakers
If there will be use of PA, PA System from Vehicle (requires permission from licensing), Music Truck (Requires permission from licensing), Emergency Vehicles (e.g. Red Cross, Ambulance, Fire)
Note: This is a notification process, not an approval process. Submit at least 7 days before the meeting.

General Road Event Applications

Processing Time: 21-28 business days

Requirements

Valid identification of applicant
Completed application form
Detailed site plan and road closure areas
Traffic management plan
Sound level compliance certificate (if applicable)
Proof of insurance coverage
Important: Road closure applications require coordination with Ministry of Works and Transport.

Carnival Permits

Status: Closed Until 2026
Notice: Carnival permit applications are currently closed and will reopen for the 2026 carnival season.

Requirements (For 2026)

Valid identification of band leader
Completed carnival application form
Parade route details
Expected number of masqueraders
Music truck specifications

Donations, Raffles & Bingo Permits

Processing Time: 14-21 business days

Requirements

Valid identification of organizer
Completed permit application
Organization registration documents
Details of prizes and ticket prices
Sample of tickets/cards must be submitted with application

Addtional Requirements

Letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police
Valid identification of organizer (passport, DP or National ID)
Completed permit application
Organization registration documents (Certificate of Incorporation and Certificate of Non-Profit Organisation)
Valid identification of all Governing Body/Executive Committee members
The proposed cost per ticket
The anticipated number of tickets to be sold
The aggregated value of ticket sales
Sample of tickets/cards must be submitted with application
Tickets/Cards needs to be numbered consecutively
The list of articles/prizes and value of each in the order of highest to lowest value
State Jackpot/Consolation Prize(s) if any and value
All prizes stated must be in the possession of the organizer(s)
For Car raffle copies of Invoices, taxes and Insurance must be presented
If taxes and insurance is to be paid by winner, it must be stated clearly in the form of a letter
If prize spaces on application form is insufficient attach an additional sheet and continue with prizes
Date the raffle is to be drawn and location where the draw will take place
Name and Address of Organization

Purpose of the Raffle needs to be clearly stated
Applications must not be for Personal/Commercial Gain
Applications must be submitted at least three (3) months in advance

Special Note: Schools may be exempt if tickets are only sold on event day and limited to school events.

Firearm Applications (Currently in Testing. Selected Test Users Only.)

Important: Firearm applications require extensive background checks and may take several months to process.
